Production Operations Engineer

As a Production Operations Engineer, you will play a critical role at the intersection of manufacturing and operations, ensuring parts move efficiently through production and post-processing workflows. This position requires strong manufacturing fundamentals, attention to detail, and the ability to evaluate technical requirements while coordinating with internal teams and external stakeholders.
Key Responsibilities
- Own the day-to-day flow of parts through production and post-processing operations, ensuring schedules and throughput targets are met.
- Evaluate nonconformances, rework requirements, and dimensional deviations against engineering drawings and specifications.
- Communicate production status, technical issues, and corrective actions with both customers and internal teams.
- Support inspection, testing, and quality verification activities prior to shipment.
- Partner with manufacturing and process engineering teams to identify recurring issues and drive process improvements.
- Maintain accurate production tracking, documentation, and traceability records.
- Identify operational bottlenecks and collaborate cross-functionally to improve efficiency, quality, and throughput.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Manufacturing Engineering, Industrial Engineering, or a related field.
- Internship or professional experience in manufacturing, production, quality, or operations engineering.
- Hands-on experience with manufacturing equipment, machinery, tooling, or complex assemblies.
- Ability to read and interpret engineering drawings and communicate technical information effectively.
Preferred Qualifications
- 2+ years of experience in a manufacturing, production, or quality engineering environment.
- Strong understanding of GD&T and engineering drawing interpretation.
- Experience with precision manufacturing, machining, metal fabrication, or advanced manufacturing processes.
- Familiarity with evaluating nonconformances, root cause investigations, and corrective actions.
- Experience with ERP/MRP systems and production tracking software.
- Customer-facing experience within a manufacturing or technical environment.
- Ability to prioritize competing demands and make sound decisions in a fast-paced production setting.
