Purchasing Manager, Capital Projects
Location: Greater Summerville, SC Area
Compensation: $130,000-$155,000 Base + Bonus
We are partnering with a rapidly growing manufacturing organization seeking a Purchasing Manager, Capital Projects to support a large-scale industrial operation. This is a highly visible individual contributor role with significant exposure to senior leadership and direct ownership of capital procurement initiatives.
The Purchasing Manager will be responsible for sourcing and managing approximately $50M in annual capital project spend, supporting equipment, construction, and site expansion activities.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead sourcing and procurement activities for capital equipment, construction, and facility-related projects
- Manage supplier selection, negotiations, contract execution, and ongoing vendor performance
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Maintenance, and Project Management teams
- Drive cost savings, risk mitigation, and project delivery objectives
- Support site growth initiatives and major capital investment projects
- Develop sourcing strategies that ensure project timelines and financial targets are achieved
Qualifications
- 4-6+ years of procurement, sourcing, or purchasing experience focused on CAPEX spend
- Experience supporting manufacturing, industrial, building materials, chemicals, mining, heavy industry, or related environments
- Strong contract negotiation and supplier management skills
- Proven ability to manage multiple capital projects simultaneously
- Comfortable working cross-functionally in a fast-paced, high-growth environment
