About the Company
A leading food manufacturing organization is seeking an experienced Safety professional to lead health, safety, and compliance efforts across a large production complex. This role will be responsible for driving a strong safety culture, ensuring regulatory compliance, leading continuous improvement initiatives, and partnering with operations leadership to create a safe and healthy work environment for all employees.
This is a highly visible leadership position that works closely with Operations, Human Resources, Environmental, Maintenance, Regulatory, and Plant Leadership teams to support employee safety, operational excellence, and compliance performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead all site health and safety programs, policies, and procedures to ensure compliance with local, state, federal, and corporate standards.
- Drive a proactive safety culture through coaching, mentoring, and development of supervisors, managers, and frontline employees.
- Conduct incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective action planning to reduce risk and prevent future occurrences.
- Analyze safety performance metrics, identify trends, and develop action plans that improve overall safety performance.
- Perform facility audits, inspections, and compliance reviews while tracking corrective actions through completion.
- Deliver safety training programs and ensure compliance with OSHA and other regulatory requirements.
- Partner with Environmental and Operations teams to support environmental compliance and risk management initiatives.
- Serve as a key point of contact during regulatory inspections, audits, and interactions with external agencies.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Safety, Environmental Health & Safety, Occupational Safety, or a related field.
- 5+ years of progressive Environmental Health & Safety leadership experience within manufacturing, food processing, distribution, or industrial environments.
- Strong knowledge of OSHA regulations, incident investigation, behavioral safety programs, auditing, and compliance management.
- Experience leading safety committees, developing safety culture initiatives, and driving continuous improvement efforts.
- Strong analytical, communication, training, and leadership skills with the ability to influence employees at all levels.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and safety management systems.
- Professional certifications such as ASP or CSP are highly preferred.
- Bilingual English/Spanish is a plus.
