EHS Engineer

EHS Engineer required for leading aerospace manufacturer

  • Environmental Health Safety Engineer
  • Coxsackie, NY
  • $70,000-$85,000 per year
  • Occasional travel (<10%)

The EHS Engineer will have the following responsibilities:

  • Serve as the site EHS resource, partnering with leadership and operations teams to drive a strong safety culture and ensure regulatory compliance
  • Lead incident investigations, root cause analyses, and corrective actions to reduce risk and improve EHS performance
  • Develop, implement, and maintain safety policies, procedures, and EHS programs.
  • Conduct workplace inspections, risk assessments, and hazard identification activities to proactively prevent incidents
  • Deliver employee safety training and support ongoing safety awareness initiatives across the facility
  • Coordinate industrial hygiene activities and support employee health and safety programs
  • Monitor EHS metrics, compliance activities, audits, and continuous improvement initiatives
  • Ensure timely completion of corrective actions and compliance-related action items
  • Support facility projects and daily operations by providing EHS guidance and regulatory expertise
  • Manage environmental compliance programs in accordance with local, state, and federal regulations
  • Maintain environmental records and support regulatory reporting related to air emissions, hazardous waste, wastewater, and sustainability initiatives
  • Assist with environmental permitting, sampling activities, KPI tracking, and ESG/sustainability reporting

The ideal EHS/Environmental Engineer candidate will have the following skillset:

  • Bachelor's degree in Environmental Health & Safety, Environmental Engineering, Occupational Safety, or a related field
  • 2+ years of EHS experience within a manufacturing environment preferred
  • Strong working knowledge of OSHA regulations, safety programs, incident investigations, and risk management practices
  • Experience developing and delivering safety training and driving employee engagement initiatives
  • Demonstrated success conducting inspections, audits, hazard assessments, and corrective action management
  • Ability to influence safety performance through collaboration with operations, maintenance, and leadership teams
  • Experience leading or supporting industrial hygiene programs and occupational health initiatives
  • Knowledge of environmental compliance requirements, including permitting, reporting, hazardous waste, air emissions, or wastewater programs
  • Familiarity with sustainability, ESG reporting, or environmental performance metrics
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills
  • Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and take ownership of EHS programs
  • Effective communication skills with the ability to build relationships at all levels of the organization
  • Experience with Microsoft Office and EHS management systems.
  • CIH, CHMM, CPEA, CSP, or Lean Six Sigma certifications are a plus.
