Position Overview

We are seeking an experienced Director of Supply Chain to lead and optimize end-to-end supply chain operations for a growing pharmaceutical manufacturing organization. This individual will be a hands-on leader responsible for driving performance across planning, procurement, and warehousing, ensuring uninterrupted supply, inventory optimization, and operational excellence.

The ideal candidate will bring extensive experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing, a strong background in SAP and IBP, and a proven ability to lead cross-functional teams while executing strategic initiatives in a highly regulated environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead the end-to-end supply chain function, including demand planning, supply planning, procurement, inventory management, warehousing, and distribution.
  • Direct and develop a team of 3 direct reports overseeing:
    • Supply Planning
    • Procurement/Sourcing
    • Warehousing & Logistics
  • Ensure uninterrupted product availability while maintaining optimal inventory levels and service performance.
  • Drive S&OP and integrated business planning processes to align supply chain strategy with business objectives.
  • Utilize SAP and SAP IBP to improve forecasting accuracy, inventory management, production planning, and supply chain visibility.
  • Partner closely with Manufacturing, Quality, Regulatory, Finance, and Commercial leadership to support business growth and customer requirements.
  • Develop and execute sourcing and procurement strategies that mitigate risk, improve supplier performance, and reduce costs.
  • Monitor KPIs related to inventory turns, forecast accuracy, service levels, OTIF performance, procurement savings, and warehouse productivity.
  • Identify and implement continuous improvement initiatives to increase efficiency, reduce waste, and enhance overall supply chain performance.
  • Establish strong supplier relationships and oversee supplier performance management programs.
  • Support new product launches, capacity planning, and network optimization efforts.
  • Ensure compliance with GMP, FDA, and other applicable regulatory requirements impacting pharmaceutical supply chain operations.

Qualifications

Required

  • Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, Engineering, or related field.
  • 8+ years of progressive supply chain leadership experience within pharmaceutical manufacturing.
  • Proven experience leading end-to-end supply chain functions including planning, procurement, inventory management, and warehousing.
  • Experience managing teams and developing high-performing supply chain professionals.
  • Strong expertise with SAP ERP and SAP IBP.
  • Demonstrated success leading S&OP/IBP processes.
  • Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making capabilities.
  • Ability to operate strategically while remaining hands-on in day-to-day operations.
  • Excellent communication and stakeholder management skills.

Preferred

  • Master's degree (MBA or related field).
  • APICS/ASCM certifications (CPIM, CSCP).
  • Experience supporting multi-site pharmaceutical manufacturing operations.
  • Lean Six Sigma certification or continuous improvement experience.
