Overview

Our client is a global leader in ingredient processing and manufacturing.

Due to continued investment in their Hamburg manufacturing site, our client is seeking an Electrical Team Lead to join their Maintenance function. This is a leadership-focused position for an experienced maintenance professional who enjoys developing people, driving reliability improvements, and ensuring the safe and efficient operation of critical production assets.

You'll lead a team of electrical maintenance technicians while playing a key role in maintenance planning, plant reliability, continuous improvement, and operational excellence.

Responsibilities

As Electrical Team Lead, you will:

  • Provide operational, technical, and disciplinary leadership to a team of 4-10 maintenance professionals.
  • Plan resources, workloads, and maintenance activities to ensure optimal plant availability.
  • Coordinate weekly maintenance schedules alongside the Asset Lead.
  • Ensure maintenance work is completed safely, efficiently, and to the required quality standards.
  • Develop team capabilities through coaching, training, performance management, and regular feedback.
  • Foster a proactive culture focused on safety, accountability, reliability, and continuous improvement.
  • Coordinate internal stakeholders, contractors, and external service providers.
  • Support fault-finding activities, root cause analysis, and the implementation of long-term corrective actions.
  • Drive improvements in maintenance strategies, repair processes, and equipment reliability.
  • Maintain accurate maintenance records and asset data within the CMMS system.
  • Support shutdown planning and analyse maintenance KPIs to identify improvement opportunities.
  • Manage the procurement of spare parts and critical maintenance materials.
  • Participate in the on-call rota to help ensure high asset availability.
  • Ensure compliance with all legal, regulatory, company, and health & safety requirements.

Requirements

Our client is looking for candidates with:

  • A degree or equivalent qualification in Electrical Engineering, Mechatronics, or a related technical discipline.
  • Proven leadership experience within an industrial maintenance environment.
  • Strong technical expertise in the maintenance of production equipment, utilities, and plant infrastructure.
  • Experience planning, prioritising, and managing maintenance activities and resources.
  • A solid understanding of plant reliability, asset criticality, health & safety, and quality standards.
  • Previous experience developing maintenance technicians and building technical capability within a team.
  • Strong problem-solving skills with experience in fault analysis and continuous improvement initiatives.
  • Hands-on experience using CMMS systems and maintenance planning tools.
  • Excellent communication and leadership skills with the ability to motivate, influence, and engage others.
  • A structured and pragmatic approach, combined with strong ownership and accountability.
  • A collaborative mindset and the ability to work effectively across multiple departments and external partners.
  • Openness to change, feedback, and driving operational improvements.
