Global Commodity Manager, Electrical Components & Electronics

Location: San Mateo, Ca - 3 days a week on-site

Innovative U.S.-based manufacturer of advanced autonomous electromechanical products serving commercial, industrial, and government markets.

Role Overview
Lead global sourcing and commodity strategy for electrical and electronic components supporting the manufacturing of complex electromechanical systems. Key categories include connectors, cables, wire harnesses, antennas, and related EE commodities.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute global commodity sourcing strategies and supplier roadmaps.
  • Partner with Engineering on supplier and component selection for NPI and production programs.
  • Identify, qualify, and manage strategic suppliers globally.
  • Lead supplier negotiations, cost reduction initiatives, and contract management (MSAs, SOWs, RFIs, RFPs, RFQs).
  • Analyze market trends, technology roadmaps, and supply-demand dynamics to drive sourcing decisions.
  • Manage supplier performance, quality, risk, and delivery metrics.
  • Support forecasting, financial planning, and cross-functional initiatives with Finance and Operations.

Desired Background

  • Strong experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, and supply chain within a manufacturing environment.
  • Expertise sourcing electrical/electronic components, electromechanical assemblies, or related commodities.
  • Proven success with supplier negotiations, cost modeling, should-cost analysis, and contract management.
  • Experience working closely with engineering teams during product development and launch.
  • Ability to build executive-level supplier relationships and resolve complex commercial issues.
  • Comfortable operating in a fast-paced, high-growth environment.
  • Strong analytical, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
  • Technical degree or equivalent industry experience preferred.
