The Opportunity
A global leader in the facilities management and business services sector is seeking a Global Senior Category Manager - Cleaning Chemicals to lead the strategy and procurement of a critical global category spanning cleaning chemicals, dispensers, and associated services.
This is a highly visible, strategic role with international scope, offering the opportunity to shape sourcing decisions, influence senior stakeholders across multiple regions, and drive innovation, sustainability, and commercial value throughout the supply chain.
You will work closely with procurement, operations, technical, and category leadership teams globally, helping to establish best-in-class category management practices while building strategic supplier partnerships that support long-term business objectives.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement global category strategies for cleaning chemicals, dispensers, and related services, ensuring alignment with business and operational objectives
- Lead strategic sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations to deliver sustainable value, cost optimisation, and service excellence
- Collaborate with stakeholders across operations, facilities management, food services, procurement, and regional leadership teams to drive category alignment
- Analyse market trends, supplier capabilities, and emerging technologies to identify opportunities for innovation and competitive advantage
- Build and manage strategic relationships with global suppliers, driving performance, resilience, and continuous improvement
- Lead contract negotiations and governance activities, establishing robust commercial agreements, service levels, and compliance frameworks
- Use data and analytics to support decision-making, uncover savings opportunities, and improve category visibility
- Champion process improvement initiatives that enhance procurement effectiveness and strengthen global collaboration
- Partner with innovation, marketing, and sustainability teams to identify and introduce new products, technologies, and environmentally responsible solutions
- Act as a category expert, bringing market insights and thought leadership to support future business growth
What We're Looking For
- 8-10+ years of procurement and category management experience within a multinational environment
- Strong experience sourcing cleaning chemicals, hygiene products, dispensers, equipment maintenance, or related categories
- Proven ability to develop and implement category strategies across regional or global operations
- Strong supplier relationship management and strategic sourcing expertise
- Excellent stakeholder management skills, with the ability to influence across multiple functions, regions, and levels of seniority
- Commercially astute with strong analytical and financial modelling capabilities
- Comfortable balancing strategic planning with hands-on execution
- A continuous improvement mindset with a passion for innovation and driving procurement excellence
- Degree-qualified in Business, Supply Chain, Procurement, or a related discipline; MCIPS or equivalent qualification is advantageous
- Fluent English required; additional European languages are beneficial
