Indirect Strategic Sourcing Manager
A growing organization is seeking a Indirect Strategic Sourcing Manager to lead sourcing initiatives across a diverse portfolio of indirect spend categories. This role partners closely with business stakeholders to develop sourcing strategies, manage supplier relationships, negotiate contracts, and deliver measurable value through cost optimization and operational improvements. The ideal candidate combines strong category management expertise with exceptional stakeholder engagement and negotiation capabilities.
Responsibilities:
Strategic Sourcing & Category Management
- Lead sourcing initiatives across multiple indirect spend categories, including professional services, technology, marketing, and business operations.
- Develop and execute category strategies aligned with business objectives and stakeholder priorities.
- Utilize market intelligence, benchmarking, competitive bidding, and total cost analysis to support supplier selection and sourcing decisions.
- Identify opportunities to improve service quality, optimize costs, and reduce supplier-related risks.
Supplier Management & Contract Negotiations
- Lead supplier evaluations, negotiations, and contract management activities.
- Manage supplier relationships, service levels, performance expectations, and issue resolution.
- Conduct supplier risk assessments and support supplier qualification activities.
- Drive continuous improvement through supplier performance monitoring and scorecards.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner closely with stakeholders across finance, legal, human resources, operations, technology, and commercial functions.
- Support business requirements gathering and ensure sourcing solutions align with organizational priorities.
- Provide guidance and support during complex negotiations and supplier escalations.
- Foster collaboration and alignment across departments throughout sourcing projects.
Procurement Operations & Process Improvement
- Maintain sourcing documentation, contract records, and supplier performance data.
- Identify opportunities to improve procurement processes, tools, workflows, and governance practices.
- Support implementation of procurement technologies and digital sourcing solutions.
- Drive initiatives focused on efficiency, transparency, and operational excellence.
Leadership & Development
- Mentor and support sourcing professionals through knowledge sharing, training, and coaching.
- Promote procurement best practices and consistent stakeholder engagement approaches.
- Stay informed on industry trends, market developments, and emerging sourcing practices.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Supply Chain, Finance, Information Technology, Marketing, or a related field.
- 4+ years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, category management, or supply chain functions.
- Experience supporting indirect spend categories and managing supplier relationships.
- Strong negotiation, project management, and stakeholder management skills.
- Experience leading sourcing initiatives and influencing cross-functional teams.
- Proficiency with Microsoft Office and procurement-related systems or sourcing platforms.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
- Interest in leveraging technology and innovative tools to improve sourcing outcomes.
Preferred Background:
- Experience supporting technology, professional services, marketing, or other indirect spend categories.
- Familiarity with supplier risk management, contract lifecycle management, and strategic sourcing methodologies.
