Marine Systems & Piping Engineer
My client is seeking a highly driven Marine Systems & Piping Engineer to support the design, installation, and commissioning of complex piping and fluid systems for large-scale marine and industrial projects. The ideal candidate combines strong mechanical and piping design expertise with hands-on production support experience to ensure systems are designed efficiently, built correctly, and delivered in compliance with industry standards and project requirements.
Key Responsibilities
Marine Systems & Piping Design
- Develop piping and fluid system designs, including calculations, drawings, specifications, equipment selection, and engineering documentation.
- Prepare and review technical documentation, vendor data, and system designs to ensure completeness and accuracy.
- Support design reviews and coordinate design changes throughout the project lifecycle.
Production Support
- Translate engineering designs into production-ready build packages and installation plans.
- Support fabrication, installation, testing, and commissioning activities.
- Serve as a technical liaison between engineering and production teams, troubleshooting field issues and resolving installation conflicts.
Regulatory Compliance & Quality
- Ensure designs comply with applicable industry standards, classification requirements, and customer specifications.
- Support equipment verification, material tracking, and quality documentation efforts.
- Maintain configuration management and engineering change control processes.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Coordinate with project teams, vendors, production personnel, and external stakeholders throughout project execution.
- Support technical issue resolution, document management, and communication across multiple disciplines.
Qualifications
Required
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering, Marine Engineering, Naval Architecture, or related technical field.
- 3+ years of experience in piping design, marine systems, shipbuilding, industrial construction, or similar project environments.
- Experience using AutoCAD, ShipConstructor, Navisworks, or similar 3D design software.
- Strong understanding of fluid systems, piping layouts, material selection, equipment selection, and pipe support design.
- Strong communication, problem-solving, and cross-functional collaboration skills.
