About the Role
We are looking for an experienced Ocean Import Supervisor to join a growing logistics organization in Rotterdam. In this role, you will be responsible for overseeing daily ocean import operations, leading a team of import professionals, and ensuring the efficient movement of international shipments while maintaining the highest levels of customer service and compliance.

Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and support the day-to-day activities of the Ocean Import team.
- Ensure timely and accurate processing of import shipments from origin to final delivery.
- Monitor operational KPIs and drive continuous improvement initiatives.
- Act as the primary escalation point for operational and customer issues.
- Coordinate with carriers, shipping lines, customs brokers, warehouses, and transport providers.
- Ensure compliance with customs regulations, company procedures, and industry standards.
- Manage workload allocation and resource planning across the team.
- Coach, mentor, and develop team members to support their professional growth.
- Build and maintain strong relationships with customers and key stakeholders.
- Support management with reporting, process optimization, and strategic operational initiatives.
Requirements
- Minimum 5 years of experience within Ocean Import Freight Forwarding.
- Previous experience leading, mentoring, or supervising a team is preferred.
- Strong knowledge of international shipping, import documentation, customs processes, and Incoterms.
- Experience working with freight forwarding systems and operational platforms.
- Ability to manage multiple priorities in a fast-paced environment.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making skills.
- Excellent communication skills in English; Dutch is advantageous.
- Customer-focused mindset with strong stakeholder management abilities.
