A manufacturing facility in the food and beverage industry is seeking a skilled Packaging Engineer to lead the development and optimization of packaging systems. Key Responsibilities

  • Create and refine packaging designs to be more efficient, cost-effective, and environmentally responsible
  • Conduct testing and validation of packaging materials to ensure performance and compliance
  • Improve packaging workflows to minimize waste and enhance sustainability efforts
  • Coordinate with internal departments including engineering, production, logistics, and marketing
  • Monitor and analyze packaging-related expenses to identify cost-saving opportunities
  • Manage packaging initiatives from concept through full-scale implementation
  • Assist in the integration of packaging systems with production equipment
  • Promote continuous improvement through data analysis and process documentation
  • Ensure adherence to applicable safety, regulatory, and environmental standards

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Packaging Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, or related discipline
  • 5-8 years of relevant experience, preferably in food and beverage manufacturing
  • Proficiency in CAD tools including AutoCAD and SolidWorks
  • Strong understanding of packaging-specific software
  • Knowledge of industry testing protocols (e.g., ISTA, ASTM)
  • Strong analytical, organizational, and communication skills
  • Familiarity with sustainability practices and lifecycle analysis
  • Six Sigma (Green or Black Belt) certification preferred
  • Demonstrated ability to lead cross-functional initiatives
