Chemical Manufacturing | San Antonio, TX

A leading chemical manufacturing company is seeking an experienced Plant Manager to provide strategic and operational leadership for a high-volume production facility in the San Antonio area. This role is responsible for driving safety, operational excellence, productivity, quality, employee development, and continuous improvement while ensuring compliance with all environmental and regulatory requirements.

Responsibilities

  • Lead all plant operations, including production, maintenance, engineering, quality, safety, and logistics.
  • Drive a strong safety culture focused on employee engagement, risk reduction, and regulatory compliance.
  • Ensure production targets, quality standards, and customer commitments are consistently achieved.
  • Develop and execute plant strategies to improve efficiency, reliability, and profitability.
  • Manage plant budgets, capital projects, and operational performance metrics.
  • Partner with corporate leadership to establish and achieve business objectives.
  • Lead, mentor, and develop plant leadership teams and hourly workforce.
  • Champion continuous improvement initiatives utilizing Lean, Six Sigma, or other operational excellence methodologies.
  • Ensure compliance with OSHA, EPA, and all applicable environmental, health, and safety regulations.
  • Support preventive and predictive maintenance programs to maximize equipment reliability and uptime.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Chemistry, Operations Management, or related field preferred.
  • 10+ years of progressive manufacturing leadership experience.
  • Prior experience managing operations within a chemical, petrochemical, specialty chemicals, or related process manufacturing environment.
  • Proven track record of leading large teams in a production setting.
  • Strong knowledge of process safety management (PSM), environmental compliance, and regulatory requirements.
  • Experience managing budgets, capital projects, and operational KPIs.
  • Demonstrated success improving safety performance, productivity, quality, and plant profitability.
  • Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
