PLC TECHNICIAN
Overview
A growing advanced manufacturing company is seeking a Maintenance & PLC Technician to support highly automated production equipment. This position will be responsible for preventive and predictive maintenance, equipment troubleshooting, PLC and electrical support, and mechanical repairs across a modern manufacturing operation.
The company utilizes manufacturing equipment sourced from China, making Mandarin language capability a key requirement for communicating around equipment documentation, maintenance, and technical issues.
What You'll Do
- Troubleshoot PLC-controlled machinery, motors, sensors, switches, drives, and inverters.
- Perform preventive and predictive maintenance across automated production equipment.
- Diagnose electrical, mechanical, pneumatic, and hydraulic equipment issues.
- Program, calibrate, and support PLC-related equipment.
- Support robotics and automated manufacturing systems.
- Assist with installations, upgrades, and modifications to production equipment.
- Interpret electrical schematics, technical manuals, and machine documentation.
- Partner with Engineering and Production on equipment reliability improvements.
- Maintain accurate records covering equipment repairs and maintenance activities.
- Occasional travel to secondary facility.
What You'll Bring
- Mandarin language capability.
- Approximately 5 years of industrial maintenance, PLC, electrical, or mechanical experience. Candidates with slightly less experience may be considered.
- Strong electrical, mechanical, or PLC maintenance background.
- Experience diagnosing industrial machinery and automated equipment.
- Ability to read electrical schematics and technical documentation.
- Knowledge of motors, drives, gears, bearings, sensors, and electrical components.
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical diploma or certification preferred.
- Ability to work primarily first shift with flexibility for occasional maintenance emergencies.
