Production Supervisor- 3rd Shift

Position Overview
The Production Supervisor oversees day‑to‑day manufacturing activities to ensure operational efficiency, product quality, and adherence to safety standards. This role is responsible for leading production teams, optimizing processes, resolving operational issues, and ensuring compliance with company policies and industry regulations.


Essential Duties & Responsibilities

Leadership & Team Management

  • Supervise and support production employees through coaching, training, and performance evaluations.
  • Assign daily tasks, monitor progress, and ensure production goals are consistently met.
  • Promote a collaborative, positive work environment focused on teamwork and continuous improvement.

Production Oversight

  • Manage production schedules and workflows to maximize efficiency and reduce downtime.
  • Monitor equipment and production lines to ensure safe, reliable operation.
  • Identify and resolve production challenges promptly to maintain steady output.

Quality Assurance & Compliance

  • Ensure all manufactured products meet established quality standards and customer requirements.
  • Enforce company policies, safety protocols, and industry regulations throughout the production area.
  • Conduct routine inspections and audits to detect and correct quality issues.

Process Improvement

  • Identify opportunities to enhance efficiency, reduce waste, and improve overall production performance.
  • Apply lean manufacturing principles and continuous improvement strategies.
  • Partner with engineering, maintenance, and quality teams to improve processes and systems.

Inventory Control & Reporting

  • Maintain accurate and timely records of production output, downtime, and material usage.
  • Oversee proper handling and usage of raw materials to minimize waste.
  • Prepare and deliver reports on production metrics, employee performance, and operational challenges.

Qualifications & Skills

  • High school diploma or equivalent required; an associate or bachelor's degree in manufacturing, engineering, or a related field is preferred.
  • Minimum of 3 years' experience in a manufacturing or production environment, including supervisory experience.
  • Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving abilities.
  • Working knowledge of production processes, quality standards, and safety regulations.
  • Ability to operate and troubleshoot production machinery.
  • Proficiency with production management systems and Microsoft Office applications.
  • Strong organizational skills and ability to manage shifting priorities in a fast-paced environment.

Physical Requirements

  • Regularly required to speak and listen.
  • Frequently required to sit; occasionally required to stand, walk, handle objects, reach, climb, balance, stoop, kneel, crouch, or crawl.
  • Must occasionally lift or move up to 50 pounds.
  • Vision requirements include close, distance, color, peripheral vision, depth perception, and the ability to adjust focus.
