Title: Project Engineer - Electrical

Salary: $110,000 - $130,000

Location: Remote (U.S.) | Extensive North American Travel (50%+)

Company Summary:

A leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking an Electrical Project Engineer to support capital projects across a large network of production facilities throughout North America. This role will focus on automation, controls, equipment upgrades, and manufacturing improvement initiatives while partnering closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams. The organization is known for its strong culture, long-term stability, and continued investment in its manufacturing operations.

The Electrical Project Engineer will be responsible for:

  • Leading capital projects from concept through implementation, commissioning, and project closeout.
  • Managing project scope, budgets, schedules, vendors, and contractors to ensure successful project execution.
  • Supporting automation and controls-related projects including PLC upgrades, modifications, and new equipment installations.
  • Identifying and implementing manufacturing process improvements that increase productivity, reliability, and safety.
  • Developing technical specifications and supporting the procurement of equipment and services.
  • Providing technical support to plant operations and maintenance teams during equipment installations and startup activities.
  • Coordinating with cross-functional stakeholders to ensure project objectives are achieved.
  • Supporting multiple manufacturing facilities throughout North America.
  • Traveling approximately 50% of the time.

The Electrical Project Engineer should have the following qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
  • 5+ years of project engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Experience managing capital projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to multi-million-dollar investments.
  • Hands-on experience with PLCs, controls systems, automation, motor controls, and manufacturing equipment.
  • Strong understanding of electrical systems, troubleshooting, and industrial safety practices.
  • Experience leading equipment upgrades, production line installations, automation projects, or reliability improvements.
  • PMP certification is a plus.
