Salary: $110,000 - $130,000
Location: Remote (U.S.) | Extensive North American Travel (50%+)

A leading industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Mechanical Project Engineer to support capital projects across a diverse manufacturing network throughout North America. This position will play a key role in executing facility improvement projects, equipment upgrades, automation initiatives, and operational improvement efforts. The Mechanical Project Engineer will be responsible for:
- Managing capital projects from concept development through installation, commissioning, and project closeout.
- Developing project scopes, budgets, schedules, and technical specifications.
- Supporting equipment upgrades, manufacturing line improvements, automation initiatives, and reliability projects.
- Managing contractors, vendors, and external project partners throughout project execution.
- Identifying opportunities to improve manufacturing efficiency, safety, reliability, and operational performance.
- Coordinating project activities with plant leadership, operations, maintenance, and engineering teams.
- Supporting multiple manufacturing facilities across North America.
- Driving project execution while ensuring compliance with safety and regulatory requirements.
- Traveling approximately 50% of the time.
The Mechanical Project Engineer should have the following qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Mechanical Engineering or related engineering discipline.
- 5+ years of project engineering experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience managing manufacturing capital projects ranging from several hundred thousand dollars to multi-million-dollar investments.
- Experience supporting equipment installations, upgrades, facility improvements, and manufacturing process enhancements.
- Strong understanding of project management fundamentals including budgeting, scheduling, and contractor management.
- Experience working within industrial manufacturing, packaging, paper, consumer products, food & beverage, chemicals, or related industries.
- PMP certification is a plus.
