Regulatory Manager
A global specialty chemicals manufacturer is seeking a Regulatory Manager to lead product and operational regulatory compliance across the United States and Canada, while supporting activities in Mexico.
This individual will oversee regulatory programs, provide strategic guidance on new products and raw materials, manage SDS authoring and documentation processes, and lead the regional regulatory team. The role requires strong leadership capabilities and extensive experience navigating complex chemical regulations, particularly TSCA and FIFRA requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead regulatory compliance programs across North America, ensuring adherence to applicable federal, state, and international regulations.
- Serve as the subject matter expert for regulatory requirements including EPA, PMRA, FDA, and OSHA compliance.
- Develop and manage compliance calendars, reporting processes, and regulatory submissions.
- Create, maintain, and improve regulatory policies, procedures, and SOPs.
- Provide compliance training and regulatory guidance to cross-functional teams.
- Oversee customer regulatory support, including product certifications, declarations, and technical documentation requests.
- Manage SDS systems and ensure accurate product stewardship documentation is maintained.
- Lead, coach, and develop a team of regulatory professionals while driving performance and continuous improvement.
- Partner with R&D, Operations, Procurement, and Commercial teams to support new products, raw material approvals, and business growth initiatives.
- Drive process improvements that enhance compliance, operational efficiency, and risk management.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in a STEM-related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant regulatory, product compliance, or chemical industry experience.
- Demonstrated experience leading regulatory compliance programs within EPA jurisdiction.
- In-depth knowledge of TSCA and FIFRA.
- Experience managing and developing regulatory professionals.
- Strong leadership, organizational, and problem-solving capabilities.
- Excellent attention to detail and a demonstrated commitment to safety, quality, and compliance.
- Ability to communicate regulatory requirements effectively across technical, commercial, and executive audiences.
