Lead transportation operations with a focus on safety, service excellence, team development, and operational efficiency. This position is responsible for overseeing daily transportation activities, ensuring on-time deliveries, maintaining compliance, and driving continuous improvement across the department.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead transportation teams to achieve safety, service, and cost-performance objectives.
- Develop and coach transportation managers, drivers, dispatchers, and support staff to build a high-performing organization.
- Oversee hiring, staffing, employee engagement, retention, and performance management efforts.
- Ensure accurate, efficient, and timely delivery operations while addressing service challenges and implementing effective solutions.
- Maintain compliance with DOT regulations, company policies, and workplace safety requirements.
- Identify opportunities to improve processes, increase productivity, reduce costs, and eliminate operational waste.
- Review key performance metrics and recommend strategies to enhance operational results.
- Support a culture of accountability, collaboration, customer service, and continuous improvement.
Qualifications
- Five or more years of leadership experience in transportation, fleet, distribution, or delivery operations.
- Strong understanding of transportation best practices, DOT regulations, OSHA requirements, and compliance standards.
- Demonstrated ability to lead, coach, and develop teams.
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
