Sourcing Director - IT Hardware and Components
About the Role
We are seeking a highly experienced Sourcing Director - IT Hardware and Components to lead sourcing strategy, supplier management, and cost optimization initiatives across a complex global manufacturing network.
The successful candidate will be expected to personally drive commercial negotiations, resolve supplier escalations, lead cost reduction projects, and engage directly with internal stakeholders to ensure supply continuity and business performance.
This is an excellent opportunity for an accomplished procurement leader who enjoys staying close to the business while influencing sourcing decisions at a global level.
Key Responsibilities
- Own end-to-end sourcing and commodity strategy for critical direct-material categories.
- Manage a significant procurement spend portfolio and drive sustainable cost improvements across global suppliers.
- Lead complex supplier negotiations covering pricing, contracts, capacity planning, risk mitigation, and long-term partnerships.
- Personally lead supplier business reviews, executive discussions, and commercial negotiations.
- Develop and execute commodity roadmaps aligned with business growth and operational objectives.
- Drive supplier performance in quality, delivery, cost, innovation, and responsiveness.
- Identify and mitigate supply chain risks while implementing contingency and resilience strategies.
- Partner closely with Engineering, Operations, Manufacturing, Quality, Finance, and Program Management teams.
- Support site transfer, dual-sourcing, localization, and supply chain transformation initiatives.
- Monitor commodity markets and industry trends to proactively manage market volatility and supply risks.
- Mentor and guide sourcing team members while remaining actively involved in day-to-day execution.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Supply Chain, Business, or a related discipline.
- 15+ years of progressive experience in strategic sourcing, commodity management, procurement, or supply chain leadership.
- Proven track record managing large-scale spend portfolios within electronics, industrial manufacturing, EMS, technology, or related sectors.
- Strong experience with IT components, hardware such as servers, semiconductors, storage etc.
- Demonstrated ability to deliver significant cost savings while maintaining supplier performance and supply continuity.
- Experienced in managing executive-level supplier relationships and complex commercial negotiations.
- Strong understanding of global supply chains, manufacturing operations, and supplier ecosystems.
- Excellent stakeholder management and influencing skills across regional and global organizations.
- Fluent in English and Mandarin.
