Hunting: your goal is to proactively search for potential customers who do not yet have an existing relationship with the company. You approach them either by telephone, e-mail, networking events or other communication tools.
Negotiating: as a BDM, you conduct price negotiations with customers and draw up quotes that meet the customer's needs within the established guidelines and profit targets of the company. You work closely with the internal service, who also follows up the existing customer portfolio and ensures that quotes are drawn up on time and accurately.
Identifying customer needs: as previously mentioned, you must always keep the customer's needs and wishes in mind. This requires you to have a thorough knowledge of our services, as well as the ability to listen well to customers and ask questions effectively to understand their specific requirements. From there, you offer the necessary solutions and ensure optimum customer satisfaction.
Market and competition analysis: to be successful as a BDM, you need to stay informed of market trends, competition and developments in the business. You collect information such as sales results and then generate the necessary reporting for management.
You preferably have a bachelor's degree and/or you can preferably demonstrate 5 years of relevant work experience
You have sufficient knowledge of the maritime world, you swim like a fish in water through this subject and preferably also have some affinity with both logistics and transport.
You are customer-minded, result-driven, a real team player and work proactively. You convince potential customers with your commercial flair and have an eye for detail. Your drive is reflected in great results, whereby you always bite into new opportunities. You can communicate fluently in Dutch and English.
