Our client in the FoodBev industry is looking to add a Director of Strategic Sourcing - Ingredients to their team.
** This is a hybrid role out of Louisville, KY **
Responsibilities:
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies specifically for food and beverage ingredients.
- Collaborate with culinary teams to define quality standards and specifications.
- Identify sustainable sourcing options for organic, local, and specialty ingredients.
- Cultivate strong relationships with ingredient suppliers, distributors, and co-packers.
- Negotiate contracts, pricing, and terms to ensure competitive advantage.
- Monitor supplier performance and address any issues promptly.
- Work closely with quality assurance teams to ensure ingredient safety, traceability, and compliance with industry standards.
- Implement risk mitigation strategies related to food safety and regulatory requirements.
- Analyze ingredient costs, market trends, and pricing fluctuations.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives without compromising quality.
- Explore innovative sourcing methods to enhance value.
- Collaborate with R&D teams to source ingredients for new product launches.
- Evaluate feasibility, scalability, and cost implications of new ingredients.
- Develop contingency plans for ingredient shortages, transportation disruptions, or other supply chain challenges.
- Diversify sourcing channels to minimize risk.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Food Science, or related field (Master's preferred).
- Minimum 7 years of experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or supply chain management within the food and beverage industry.
- In-depth knowledge of food ingredients, supplier networks, and industry regulations.
- Excellent negotiation skills and ability to influence cross-functional teams.
