Job Title: Operations Manager

Job Overview: Our industry leading client is seeking an experienced Operations Manager to oversee and lead their distribution center operations. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing day-to-day activities, optimizing processes, and ensuring the efficient flow of goods through the center.
Key Responsibilities:
Team Leadership and Development:
- Lead a team of supervisors, coordinators, and warehouse staff, providing guidance, coaching, and mentorship.
- Foster a positive and high-performance work environment, ensuring team members are engaged, motivated, and aligned with company goals.
Process Optimization:
- Analyze and improve existing operational processes to maximize efficiency, accuracy, and productivity.
- Implement best practices for inventory management, order fulfillment, and shipping/receiving procedures.
Inventory Management:
- Monitor and maintain accurate inventory levels to meet customer demands and minimize overstock or stockouts.
- Conduct regular audits and cycle counts to ensure inventory accuracy.
Quality Control:
- Establish and enforce quality control standards for receiving, picking, packing, and shipping operations.
- Collaborate with relevant teams to address and resolve quality issues.
Safety and Compliance:
- Ensure a safe working environment for all employees by implementing and enforcing safety protocols and procedures.
- Stay up-to-date with relevant industry regulations and compliance standards.
Performance Metrics and Reporting:
- Establish KPIs to measure and track the performance of distribution center operations.
- Generate regular reports to provide insights into key operational metrics.
Vendor and Carrier Management:
- Coordinate with vendors and carriers to optimize inbound and outbound logistics.
- Negotiate contracts and agreements to ensure cost-effective and reliable services.
Budget and Cost Management:
- Assist in the development and management of the distribution center budget, ensuring efficient resource allocation.
- Identify cost-saving opportunities and implement strategies to improve cost-efficiency.
Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Business, Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or a related field (or equivalent work experience).
- Proven experience (5+ years) in operations management within a distribution center or similar environment.
- Strong leadership skills with the ability to effectively manage and develop a diverse team.
- In-depth knowledge of warehouse operations, inventory management, and logistics processes.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Proficiency in using warehouse management systems (WMS) and other relevant software.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
