This company is well-known for their industry-leading beverage products such as soft drinks and sparkling waters! Having been around for 40+ years, they are growing their safety department while continuing to expand throughout the United States.
Responsibilities:
- Oversee and uphold adherence to Environmental, Health, and Safety (EHS) standards
- Complete reporting for Tier II, stormwater, and wastewater; manage industrial Hazardous and Non-Hazardous waste
- Interact collaboratively with all employees
- Verify accuracy and legal compliance of EHS programs; maintain necessary documentation; analyze and suggest improvements
- Conduct thorough incident investigations, including root cause analysis and preventive recommendations
- Collaborate with the Director of Environmental Health, Safety, and Security, and Engineering Director for safe design and construction
- Chair the Safety Committee
- Assist in developing EHS training programs and conduct safety training for employees
- Stay updated on Department of Transportation (DOT) and environmental laws and regulations Ensure maintenance of all safety equipment and first aid supplies
- Provide timely reports to facility staff and executive management
Requirements:
- Must be 18 years of age
- Bachelor's Degree in Safety field preferred (and/or equivalent experience that provides preferred knowledge/skills to perform the essential functions of the position
- 3-5 years in Safety required
- Working knowledge of safety codes, OSHA regulations, EPA, health regulations and hazardous material
- Effective ability to train on emergency preparedness
- Knowledge in applications of government regulations
- Ability to coordinate with local, state and federal regulatory agencies
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office
- Ability to work off shifts as needed
