Role Overview:
A leading Ship Building company in the greater New Orleans area is looking for a skilled Executive Project Manager experienced in overseeing intricate Ship Building projects! As an Executive Project Manager, you will lead a team of Project Managers and ensure seamless project planning, execution, and adherence to budgets and timeliness.
Key Responsibilities:
- Spearhead efficient project management, consistently achieving budget and timeline targets.
- Ensure impeccable project delivery, in compliance with regulations and quality standards.
- Skillfully negotiate with vendors and customers to optimize project profitability.
- Support the development of bid proposals and accurate change order estimates.
- Implement robust corporate systems for streamlined project execution.
- Lead project meetings and act as the primary point of contact.
- Supervise labor and materials in alignment with our Standard Ship Work Breakdown Structure (SWBS).
- Oversee construction schedules and subcontractor activities.
- Manage procurement processes and material requisitions.
- Scrutinize and approve invoices and progress payments.
- Provide regular project updates to stakeholders.
- Generate monthly Estimate at Completion (EAC) reports.
- Coordinate subcontractor agreements and schedules effectively.
- Advise on and contribute to the preparation and timely submission of customer invoices.
- Implement and manage the change order process for enhanced project flexibility.
- Conduct comprehensive post-project reviews and document key takeaways.
- Maintain project files following company standards.
- Uphold QMS procedures and standards diligently.
- Delegate tasks to assistants, fostering training and project alignment.
Qualifications:
- Extensive experience in shipbuilding or manufacturing operations.
- Profound understanding of policies and contracts.
- Exceptional analytical, mathematical, and problem-solving aptitude.
- Strong interpersonal and communication skills.
- Demonstrated adaptability while upholding efficiency and professionalism.
- Proficiency in group leadership and alignment with company values.
- In-depth knowledge of production processes, materials, and construction.
- Familiarity with project management principles and industry-standard tools.
- High proficiency in office procedures and industry terminology.
- Ability to decipher project-related documents effectively.
- Excellent report writing and public speaking capabilities.
Education & Experience:
- Preferred: Engineering degree or related technical field.
- Required: Experience in Contract Negotiation
- Minimum of 10 years of experience in shipyard or project management.
- Equivalent education and experience will be given due consideration.
Travel: Approximately 10%
