This role is well suited to a dynamic and entrepreneurial individual as you will be leading the purchasing function as the Head of Purchasing. Responsibilities:
- Lead and develop the purchasing function, overseeing strategic and operational sourcing, supplier management, and contract negotiations.
- Manage a team of three procurement professionals, providing guidance, mentorship, and upskilling opportunities.
- Work closely with R&D and engineering teams to align procurement strategies with product development goals and sustainability objectives.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to enhance procurement processes, optimize costs, and minimize environmental impact.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to understand business requirements and identify opportunities for innovation and efficiency.
- Foster a culture of sustainability and responsible sourcing throughout the procurement function.
- Stay informed about market trends, industry developments, and emerging technologies to inform procurement strategy.
Qualifications:
- Multiple years procurement experience, ideally in electronics, automotive or other manufacturing industries. Management experience is beneficial, this could be direct reports or indirect, functional leadership experience.
- Strong knowledge of procurement processes, practices, and systems.
- Excellent communication and negotiation skills, fluency in German extremely beneficial but lower levels can be considered.
- Demonstrated leadership abilities, with a track record of leading and motivating teams to achieve results.
- Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for driving change and making a positive impact.
- Comfortable with regular office presence and occasional travel as needed.
