A leading Pulp and Paper company is seeking a talented Manufacturing Superintendent to join their team in the Greater Houston area. In this role, you will have the opportunity to lead a dynamic team of manufacturing and production professionals at a state-of-the-art facility.
The ideal Manufacturing Superintendent will have the following responsibilities:
* Lead a team of 50+ production staff with 5+ direct reports
* Direct safety initiatives at a large production facility to strive for a work injury and incident free environment
* Drive continuous improvement initiatives
* Monitor KPI and work processes to optimize site production
* Employ effective leadership techniques among reports and staff members
The Manufacturing Superintendent qualifications:
* 5+ years' leadership experience in a complex manufacturing setting
* Bachelor's degree in mechanical, industrial or electrical engineering or similar technical field preferred.
o Years of experience will be considered in lieu of degree for the right candidate
* Experience within pulp, paper, lumbar, wood, forestry or similar manufacturing settings
* Strong history of successful continuous improvement initiatives
* LEAN/Six Sigma certifications a plus
* Familiarity with LEAN concepts such as 5s, TPM, Kanban, Kaizen, etc.
* Working knowledge of CMMS
