Roles and Responsibilities:
- Cultivate, construct, and sustain connections with all primary suppliers of packaging.
- Investigate and evaluate potential new packaging suppliers.
- Engage in negotiations for pricing, contracts, and payment terms with suppliers.
- Scrutinize and resolve any discrepancies in supplier invoices, grievances, claims, conflicts, non-conforming products, or quality matters.
- Provide management with a projection of market conditions, price trends, and potential problematic areas.
- Stay informed about changes impacting both the supply of, and demand for, essential products and materials to maintain a competitive advantage.
- Evaluate factors like price, quality, availability, reliability, and technical support when selecting suppliers and merchandise.
- Place orders and ensure timely product shipment.
Qualifications and Background:
- 8-10 years of experience in food manufacturing.
- Proficiency in packaging knowledge and familiarity with offset and flexible packaging printing.
- Previous experience in executing Request for Proposals (RFPs).
- Strong proficiency in Excel.
- Preference for experience with ERP systems.
- Exceptional analytical skills and the ability to collaborate with a multi-departmental team.
- Essential organizational, analytical, critical thinking, and communication skills.
- Capability to assess, interpret, and process substantial amounts of information/data.
