Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure effective collaboration between Production Supervisors and unionized employees, fostering positive and productive working relationships.
- Collaborate with Human Resources and the Plant Manager to resolve employee grievances.
- Oversee the facility's activities to ensure customer orders are processed efficiently and cost-effectively while maintaining high safety and quality standards.
- Monitor plant operations and key metrics to uphold and enhance quality and safety standards.
- Understand and implement the requirements of SQF 2000 Level 3 regulations for food safety and quality, promoting continuous improvement and maintaining certification.
Requirements:
- Bachelor's degree required.
- At least 5 years of hands-on experience in plant operations within the food industry.
- Minimum of 3 years of supervisory experience in a similar setting.
- Knowledge of Good Manufacturing Practices.
- Experience with union relations, safety protocols, and workers' compensation is advantageous.
- Strong leadership in Safety/Security Policies and Procedures.
- Ability to adhere to and enforce Sanitation and Quality Policies and Procedures, addressing deficiencies as needed.
- Experience or certification in HACCP, SQA is a plus.
- Familiarity with Continuous Improvement (CI) Processes within a Management Operating Structure (MOS).
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite, ERP systems, and other analytical tools.
- Ability to adapt to evolving organizational and operational demands, and to lead teams through change.
- Strong organizational and prioritization skills with meticulous attention to detail.
- Effective team player and leader with the ability to collaborate across multiple functions and disciplines.
- Capability to select, coach, develop, engage, and retain a talented team.
