The EHS Leader will play a crucial part in the fundamental growth of the company while adhering to their commitment to excellence. They will be reporting directly to the Facilities Manager and overseeing the daily business needs related to Facilities and EHS procedures. This individual will be responsible for the implementation/training for new employees in related procedures, preventative maintenance activities, and maintaining associated records.
Qualifications for the Ideal Sr. EHS Lead:
- Bachelor's degree preferred or equivalent years of relevant experience
- Master's degree in related field a plus
- 3+ years prior Aerospace, Defense, or Aviation experience in environmental health & safety in a manufacturing environment
- Prior experience working with Computerized Maintenance Management Systems (CMMS)
- Proven on-site emergency response experience
- Prior experience in an aerospace or defense manufacturing environment
- Comprehensive understanding of OSHA principles and best practices
- LEAN/Six Sigma experience a plus
- Proven leadership abilities
Responsibilities of the Sr. EHS Lead:
- Oversee and maintain overall responsibility for EHS and Sustainability programs and their implementation, improvement, and monitoring
- Conduct internal audits, inspections, and other similar tasks to ensure continued effectivity of the Facilities and Environmental Health & Safety (EHS) programs
- Verify buildings are maintained in a safe, clean, professional, and operationally effective conditions
- Lead or assist with applicable Facilities and EHS regulatory inspections, external audits, customer audits, and internal audits
- Effectively lead emergency planning, including hazardous waste training, fire drills and employee communications
- Have PC skills to complete work orders from Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
- Ability to obtain and maintain an active DoD security clearance
