Business Development Manager - Contract Logistics

Location: Lyon, France

Overview

We are seeking a high-performing Business Development Manager to drive new business growth across Contract Logistics and Dedicated Distribution (long-term transport contracts) in the French market.

This is a commercially focused role, ideal for a candidate with a strong hunter mindset and a proven ability to secure new logos and generate €3-5M in annual revenue.


Key Responsibilities

  • Identify, target, and win new business opportunities across Contract Logistics and Dedicated Transport solutions
  • Build and execute a strategic sales plan focused on revenue growth and market penetration, particularly within the Lyon and wider Rhône-Alpes region
  • Develop and convert a robust pipeline of prospects into long-term customer partnerships
  • Lead the full sales cycle, including:
    • Opportunity qualification
    • Solution design in collaboration with internal operational teams
    • Commercial negotiation and contract closure
  • Work closely with solution design, operations, and implementation teams to ensure customer-centric, value-driven proposals
  • Establish strong relationships with senior stakeholders across key industries (e.g. retail, FMCG, industrial, automotive)
  • Deliver against an annual new business target of €3-5M in revenue
  • Maintain a high level of market intelligence, including competitor activity and customer trends

Key Requirements

  • Proven track record in business development within Contract Logistics and/or Dedicated Distribution
  • Demonstrated success in winning new logos and delivering €3M+ in annual revenue growth
  • Strong understanding of:
    • Warehousing / contract logistics solutions
    • Transport / dedicated fleet solutions
  • Experience managing complex, solution-led sales cycles
  • Excellent commercial acumen and negotiation skills
  • Ability to engage and influence senior decision-makers (C-level and supply chain leadership)
  • Fluent in French and English
