A global leader in freight forwarding is seeking a Business Development Manager to drive strategic growth within the Pharmaceutical & Health-care vertical across Germany. This is a hands-on, client-facing role focused on new business acquisition, relationship development, and market expansion.

Role Overview

As a key member of the commercial team, you will be responsible for identifying and securing new clients in the pharma and healthcare sectors, developing tailored logistics solutions, and ensuring compliance with industry regulations. You'll bring a strong understanding of both freight forwarding operations and the specific needs of the pharmaceutical and healthcare industries, including regulatory frameworks such as GDP and GMP.

Key Responsibilities

  • Lead client acquisition efforts and expand the company's footprint in the pharma and healthcare vertical.
  • Develop and execute strategic business development plans to target high-potential clients and market segments.
  • Build and maintain strong relationships with decision-makers in pharmaceutical and healthcare organizations.
  • Collaborate with internal teams to design and deliver compliant, temperature-controlled logistics solutions.
  • Stay up to date with relevant regulations and ensure all solutions meet industry standards for safety, quality, and compliance.
  • Represent the company at industry events, trade shows, and client meetings to enhance visibility and credibility.
  • Provide market intelligence and feedback to support service innovation and continuous improvement.

Candidate Profile

  • Minimum 3 years of experience in freight forwarding, with a proven track record in business development or sales.
  • Minimum 3 years of experience in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry, ideally in logistics, supply chain, or commercial roles.
  • Strong understanding of pharma logistics regulations, including GDP, GMP, and temperature-sensitive transport.
  • Fluent in German and English, with excellent communication and presentation skills.
  • Entrepreneurial mindset with a passion for growth, client engagement, and hands-on execution.
  • Self-motivated and capable of working independently in a flexible, remote setup.
  • Willingness to travel within Germany and occasionally across Europe.
