Electrical Project Engineering Manager
Looking for an Electrical Engineer to join the team in a project management capacity, leading multiple capital initiatives as the company continues to invest in its core operations to support mill client groups.
Responsibilities Include:
- Oversee several capital projects (focused on electrical, instrumentation, and controls), including design, procurement, contractor coordination, construction oversight, budgeting, and documentation
- Support project planning and development within a structured framework, including front-end loading processes
- Provide E&I engineering support to mechanical project engineers across their initiatives
- Collaborate with the Purchasing team to source and procure all required materials and equipment for project execution
- Contribute to broader mill objectives by participating in cross-functional teams and providing technical expertise as needed
- Coordinate engineering and project activities in close collaboration with Maintenance and Operations teams
- Offer technical support for electrical equipment troubleshooting, failure analysis, and asset preservation across existing mill systems
- Develop, review, and revise mill standards and specifications while evaluating management of change (MOC) requests
- Provide E&I technical guidance on maintenance work orders when required
Ideal Skillset:
- Bachelor's degree in Electrical Engineering, Electrical Engineering Technology, or a related discipline, along with at least five years of relevant professional experience
- Background in process design, power distribution systems, PLC/DCS controls, and variable frequency drives
- Experience managing and executing capital projects, including installation and commissioning phases
- Proven ability to diagnose and resolve issues related to plant electrical systems and equipment
- Experience supporting maintenance teams with preventive maintenance programs, including planning for equipment obsolescence and managing spare parts strategies
- Prior experience in the pulp and paper industry is preferred
