About the company:
A well‑established automotive manufacturing organization is seeking a Maintenance Engineer to support tooling and equipment reliability within a high‑volume metal stamping operation. This facility produces critical structural components using large-scale presses and advanced manufacturing equipment.
This role plays a key part in maintaining production uptime, supporting die performance, and ensuring tooling meets quality and operational standards. The environment is fast‑paced, team‑oriented, and focused on continuous improvement.
The Maintenance Engineer will be responsible for:
- Troubleshooting, repairing, and maintaining stamping die tooling
- Disassembling, inspecting, and reassembling dies to design specifications
- Performing grinding, polishing, and hand finishing of tooling components
- Interpreting blueprints, engineering drawings, and production specifications
- Operating machining equipment including mills, lathes, and surface grinders
- Performing welding using various welding equipment
- Using cranes and hoists to safely handle large dies and components
- Measuring tooling and components using precision instruments (metric)
- Installing and troubleshooting limit switches and related components
- Documenting maintenance activities and reporting issues as needed
- Maintaining a clean, safe, and organized work environment
- Supporting production by ensuring tooling is operating efficiently and within specification
The Maintenance Engineer will have the following qualifications:
- 2‑year technical degree, journeyman certification, or equivalent hands‑on experience (4+ years preferred)
- Experience with die maintenance, tooling, or similar metalworking processes
- Ability to read prints and follow technical instructions
- Experience working in a manufacturing or industrial environment
- CNC machining experience is a plus
- Strong mechanical aptitude and troubleshooting ability
- Willingness to work rotating shifts, overtime, and weekends as required
Additional Details:
- Large-scale stamping environment with presses up to 3000 tons
- Rotating schedule: 4 weeks days / 4 weeks nights
- Exposure to industrial noise, machinery, and production environments
- Candidates with backgrounds in molds, extrusion, or CNC tooling are encouraged to apply
