Materials Planner

Location: Whippany, NJ

About the Opportunity

Join a growing aerospace and defense manufacturer known for delivering highly engineered, mission-critical products that support some of the world's most demanding applications. This is a high-visibility role where you'll serve as the bridge between Supply Chain, Production, and Executive Leadership, ensuring materials are available to keep operations running efficiently and customers satisfied.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and execute material plans to support production schedules and customer demand.
  • Partner directly with production teams on the manufacturing floor to understand material requirements and resolve shortages proactively.
  • Analyze forecasting data, inventory levels, and capacity constraints to support on-time delivery performance.
  • Present demand forecasts, material risks, and planning insights to senior leadership on a regular basis.
  • Maintain and optimize planning parameters within ERP/MRP systems, including Infor SyteLine.
  • Collaborate cross-functionally with Purchasing, Operations, Manufacturing, and Leadership teams to ensure alignment across business objectives.
  • Support S&OP activities and drive continuous improvement initiatives across the planning function.
  • Monitor critical material shortages, expedite where necessary, and develop recovery plans to minimize operational risk.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Supply Chain, Business, Operations, or a related field.
  • 5+ years of Materials Planning, Production Planning, or Supply Chain Planning experience within a manufacturing environment.
  • Strong ERP/MRP systems experience, preferably Infor SyteLine.
  • Experience with forecasting, demand planning, production scheduling, and inventory management.
  • Exceptional communication skills with the ability to influence stakeholders from the shop floor to executive leadership.
  • Aerospace, Defense, or other complex manufacturing experience strongly preferred.
  • U.S. Citizen or Green Card Holder required due to regulatory requirements.
