They are seeking a Process Engineer to join their established manufacturing operation, contributing directly to the foundation of high‑quality paper production. Key Responsibilities
- Lead process optimization initiatives based on input from leadership, operators, customers, and technical partners.
- Coordinate process improvement trials, including cost/savings analysis, risk-benefit assessments, documentation, and communication of results.
- Identify, test, and implement new fiber sources to enhance product performance and efficiency.
- Oversee activities of chemical suppliers and prioritize project needs.
- Stay current with advancements in papermaking processes and emerging technologies.
- Collect, analyze, and present production data to identify and resolve issues.
- Recommend and initiate specification and procedural updates to improve quality and reduce material costs.
- Track quality metrics, costs, and raw material usage to proactively identify potential concerns.
- Update production specifications to maintain quality while minimizing operational costs.
- Partner with production teams and Quality personnel to ensure all products meet required standards.
- Collaborate with Environmental and Safety teams to reduce environmental impact and improve workplace safety.
- Lead troubleshooting efforts involving chemical/physical analysis, data trending, root‑cause investigation, and corrective action planning.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Chemical Engineering, Bioengineering, Chemistry, Pulp & Paper Engineering, or equivalent experience.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Word.
- Strong verbal and written communication skills.
- Solid understanding of papermaking test methods and data interpretation.
- High proficiency in analyzing large datasets.
