Salary: $200,000 - $230,000

A global leader in the agricultural and chemical manufacturing industry is seeking a Director of Engineering and Manufacturing to lead all engineering activities at its nitrogen fertilizer production facility. Known for its commitment to safety, sustainability, and innovation, the organization offers a collaborative environment where engineering leaders can drive strategic improvements across ammonia and urea manufacturing systems.

This role is based in the Irvine, California area with relocation support available for qualified candidates.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead and coordinate all engineering activities to achieve safety, reliability, and production goals
  • Manage project cost/budgets; regularly reviews and updates project and labor costs, processes change orders in a timely fashion, makes suggestions on improving overall productivity and cost savings
  • Provide technical leadership for maintenance, troubleshooting, and turnaround planning
  • Drive continuous improvement initiatives and guide Management of Change processes

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree in Chemical, Mechanical, or Industrial Engineering
  • 15 years of engineering experience in the chemicals industry
  • 10+ years of leadership experience in chemical manufacturing environments
  • Proven leadership in plant operations, team management, and project execution
  • Strong background in process improvement and regulatory compliance
  • Excellent communication skills across technical and operational teams
  • Demonstrated responsibility for CapEx and maintenance budgets
