Position Summary
The Procurement Manager will be responsible for sourcing and supplier management activities across raw materials, ingredients, packaging components, and indirect spend categories. This individual will work closely with Operations, Manufacturing, Planning, Product Development, Quality, and Finance to ensure uninterrupted supply, competitive costs, and strong supplier performance.
The ideal candidate brings procurement and sourcing experience within personal care, cosmetics, beauty, OTC, consumer packaged goods, specialty chemicals, or related manufacturing environments.
Key Responsibilities
- Manage procurement activities for raw materials, ingredients, packaging materials, components, and indirect spend.
- Develop and maintain strategic supplier relationships focused on quality, service, cost, and delivery performance.
- Negotiate pricing, contracts, lead times, and supply agreements.
- Identify, qualify, and onboard alternative suppliers to mitigate supply chain risk.
- Partner with Manufacturing, Operations, Planning, R&D, and Product Development teams to support production and new product launches.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement continuous improvement initiatives.
- Drive cost savings, cost avoidance, and value engineering opportunities.
- Support inventory optimization and supply continuity efforts.
- Analyze market trends, supplier capabilities, and commodity movements to identify sourcing opportunities.
- Ensure materials are available to meet customer demand and production schedules.
- Develop reporting and metrics related to procurement performance, supplier management, and inventory.
Preferred Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Materials Management, Operations, or a related discipline.
- 5+ years of procurement, sourcing, purchasing, or supply chain experience within a manufacturing environment.
- Experience supporting personal care, beauty, cosmetics, skincare, haircare, fragrance, OTC, specialty chemical, or consumer packaged goods organizations.
- Strong supplier negotiation and contract management experience.
- Proven ability to build relationships with suppliers and internal stakeholders.
- Strong analytical, organizational, and problem-solving skills.
- Experience working in a fast-paced, growth-oriented manufacturing environment.
