Quality Assurance Manager
A leading food manufacturer is hiring a Quality Assurance Manager to drive food safety, regulatory compliance, and quality performance in a fast-paced environment. This visible role focuses on HACCP, GMPs, and certification programs while partnering with leadership to implement data-driven improvements. The responsibilities of the Quality Assurance Manager will include:
- Partner with executive leadership to drive continuous improvement across enterprise-level quality and food safety programs.
- Lead and maintain SQF certification and other key programs (e.g., Non-GMO, Kosher), always ensuring audit readiness.
- Own site-wide HACCP, GMP, and prerequisite programs to ensure full compliance with FDA, regulatory, and customer requirements.
- Serve as primary liaison for regulatory agencies, certification bodies, and key customer audits.
- Oversee QA systems, including specifications, COAs, hold logs, and document control to ensure data integrity and traceability.
- Drive KPI reporting and trend analysis (quality metrics, non-conformances, cost of quality) to support data-driven decision making.
- Lead root cause investigations and CAPA programs related to quality incidents, complaints, and food safety risks.
- Manage laboratory testing programs (microbiological, chemical, physical) across raw materials, WIP, and finished goods.
- Champion training programs to elevate food safety awareness and ensure effectiveness across production teams.
- Collaborate cross-functionally with operations, regulatory, and R&D to support product quality, packaging compliance, and plant trials.
- Oversee sanitation and environmental monitoring programs to maintain best-in-class food safety standards.
- Manage quality budget, including lab testing, capital investments, and QA team performance.
The ideal Quality Assurance Manager will have the following skillset:
- Excellent communication, problem-solving, and organizational skills in a fast-paced manufacturing environment
- Ability to interpret and apply complex regulatory requirements, technical procedures, and quality standards
- Experience preparing detailed reports, documentation, and quality-related correspondence
- Strong presentation skills with the ability to influence cross-functional teams and leadership
- Proven ability to prioritize, multi-task, and manage competing demands within Quality Assurance
- Minimum 5+ years of experience in food and/or beverage manufacturing quality environments
- Comfortable working in production settings with exposure to cold environments, noise, and high traffic conditions
