Associate, Quality Engineer
Location: Hauppauge, NY
Base Salary Range: $80,000 - $93,000
Join a leading aerospace and defense electronics manufacturer seeking a Quality Engineer to support quality systems, drive corrective actions, and partner with cross-functional teams to improve manufacturing performance and product quality.
Key Responsibilities:
- Investigate quality issues, nonconformances, and customer complaints to determine root cause and corrective actions
- Support First Article Inspections (FAIs), SCARs, failure investigations, and MRB activities
- Analyze quality data, metrics, and process trends to drive continuous improvement
- Partner with operations, manufacturing engineering, inspection, and supply chain teams to resolve quality concerns
- Support internal audits, corrective actions, and AS9100 quality system compliance
- Provide guidance to inspectors and assist with day-to-day quality activities on the production floor
Required Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or a related technical field
- 0-2 years of experience in Quality Engineering or a manufacturing environment
- Knowledge of root cause analysis, corrective actions, and continuous improvement methodologies
- Familiarity with AS9100 or other regulated quality management systems
- Strong analytical, problem-solving, and cross-functional communication skills
- Exposure to FRACAS, IPC-A-610, J-STD-001, MIL-STD-883, or Six Sigma tools is a plus
