We are currently partnering with an industry leading specialty chemical manufacturer that is looking to hire a Regional Director of Automation & Controls Engineering. The Regional Director of Automation & Controls Engineering will lead and supervise large scale process controls & automation projects across their NC, SC, and VA facilities. As the Director of Automation you will be responsible for leading automation transformation within multiple manufacturing sites utilizing top of the line technology and industry 4.0/5.0 methodologies. The Director of Automation & Controls will drive employee development and be involved in hiring engineering talent.
Responsibilities
Strategic & Administrative Leadership
- Provide direction and mentorship to control engineers and technicians, ensuring alignment with organizational goals.
- Lead workforce planning, talent acquisition, and succession strategies to build a sustainable, high-performing team.
- Develop and execute the Control Engineering strategic roadmap in alignment with site specific corporate objectives.
Organizational Capability & Technical Leadership
- Define and enforce rigorous standards for automation deliverables and system integrity.
- Drive completion of critical technical initiatives with robust governance and reporting.
- Serve as a key member of site leadership, contributing to operational strategy and decision-making.
Qualifications
- B.S. in Engineering (Chemical Engineering preferred) with extensive experience in Process Control & Automation Engineering within API or specialty chemical manufacturing.
- Minimum 8+ years of progressive experience, including leadership roles in automation or process controls.
- Experience with Delta V or Honeywell Experion a plus.
- Demonstrated success in implementing advanced automation strategies and organizational models.
