Reliability Engineer - Heavy Manufacturing
A global industrial manufacturing organization is seeking a Reliability Engineer to support operations in a large-scale production environment. This role is responsible for driving improvements in equipment reliability, maintenance effectiveness, and overall plant performance.
The Reliability Engineer will play a key role in identifying and eliminating recurring equipment issues, improving uptime, and optimizing maintenance strategies across the facility. This position partners closely with operations, maintenance, and engineering teams to implement data-driven solutions that enhance safety, efficiency, and cost performance.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop and implement reliability and maintenance strategies to improve asset performance and reduce downtime
- Lead root cause analysis efforts for equipment failures and implement long-term corrective actions
- Analyze maintenance and production data to identify trends, gaps, and opportunities for improvement
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives focused on reliability, cost reduction, and operational efficiency
- Monitor performance metrics and KPIs to proactively address reliability risks
- Support capital projects and new equipment installations by ensuring reliability considerations are built into design and execution
- Enhance preventive and predictive maintenance programs, including use of condition monitoring tools
- Collaborate cross-functionally with maintenance, engineering, and operations teams to implement solutions
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering or equivalent hands-on experience in an industrial environment
- Several years of experience in reliability, maintenance, or manufacturing engineering
- Strong troubleshooting and analytical skills with experience in root cause analysis methodologies
- Familiarity with reliability tools such as RCM, FMEA, or similar frameworks
- Experience with predictive maintenance technologies such as vibration analysis or thermal imaging preferred
- Ability to work in a fast-paced, plant-based environment and influence across teams
