About the Role
The Senior Director, Sales & Marketing (U.S.) is a senior commercial leader accountable for driving accelerated revenue growth, market penetration, and commercial capability development within a rapidly scaling energy technology business.
This role blends strategic ownership with hands-on execution, leading U.S. sales and marketing functions while building a disciplined, scalable commercial operating model. The position also serves as a critical connector between U.S. market needs and global (Asia-based) strategy, ensuring alignment, speed, and execution excellence across regions.
Scope & Impact
- Organizational Scope: Regional Sales, Marketing, and Sales Operations
- Market Focus: Energy Storage Systems (ESS), EV, Battery, and Industrial Energy Solutions
- Mandate: Drive revenue growth while building and scaling a high-performance commercial infrastructure
Key Responsibilities
Revenue Growth & Market Expansion
- Own and deliver regional revenue, growth, and market share targets
- Develop and execute strategic account plans across OEMs, utilities, EPCs, and system integrators
- Identify and capture new opportunities across ESS, EV, and broader energy transition markets
- Build durable customer partnerships and influence the broader industry ecosystem
Sales Leadership & Team Performance
- Lead, develop, and scale a high-performing U.S. commercial organization
- Establish rigorous performance management, pipeline discipline, and clear accountability
- Elevate team capability in complex sales cycles, deal structuring, and executive-level engagement
Go-to-Market & Marketing Strategy
- Define and execute integrated go-to-market strategies aligned with business priorities
- Strengthen brand presence and market credibility across the U.S.
- Drive clarity in customer segmentation, product positioning, and value propositions
Sales Operations & Commercial Discipline
- Build and institutionalize sales operating rhythms (forecasting, pipeline reviews, CRM rigor)
- Implement KPI-driven performance management (conversion rates, deal velocity, margins)
- Optimize pricing strategy, contract frameworks, and overall commercial governance
Cross-Regional Leadership
- Act as a key liaison between U.S. commercial teams and global headquarters
- Ensure U.S. execution aligns with global product roadmaps and supply chain capabilities
- Navigate cross-cultural dynamics to improve decision velocity and execution quality
Minimum Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree required; MBA preferred
- 10-15+ years of progressive leadership experience across Sales, Marketing, or Commercial roles
- Proven track record delivering revenue growth within a $300M-$500M scale business
- Strong background in B2B technical, industrial, or energy-related sales environments
- Demonstrated expertise in sales operations, forecasting, and pipeline management
- Experience operating in high-growth, dynamic market environments
- Strong executive presence, communication, and stakeholder alignment skills
Preferred Qualifications
- Mandarin proficiency or demonstrable experience working with Asian multinational organizations
- Experience supporting U.S. market entry or rapid expansion phases
- Balanced background across sales leadership and marketing strategy
- Strong understanding of U.S. energy markets, policy environment, and customer dynamics
