Senior Procurement Manager - Life Science - GBA
The Opportunity
Reporting to Procurement leadership, you will lead a team of category and supplier management professionals while personally owning a strategic category portfolio. Acting as a subject matter expert in category management, sourcing, supplier risk management, contracts, procurement processes, you will help establish best practices and build a world-class procurement organization.
This role offers a unique combination of strategic leadership, operational involvement, and cross-functional exposure across internal meetings such as manufacturing, technical & engineering, supply chain, and commercial teams.
Key Responsibilities
Procurement & Category Leadership
- Lead and develop a team responsible for KSM, Packaging Materials, MRO & CAPEX, Systems and Filtration
- Indirect strategic procurement category and lead end-to-end sourcing initiatives
Strategic Sourcing & Supplier Management
- Manage full sourcing lifecycle activities including supplier identification and qualification, RFI, RFQ and RFP processes and commercial negotiations, contract awards and supplier onboarding
- Deliver savings and cost optimization initiatives through strategic sourcing, supplier consolidation, TCO analysis
- Long-term commercial agreements
Risk Management & Compliance
- Develop dual-sourcing and supplier diversification strategies for GMP-critical materials.
- Build and maintain procurement-related business continuity plans.
- Monitor supplier performance, financial stability, and operational risks.
- Ensure compliance with internal procurement policies, GMP/GDP requirements, and relevant industry standards.
Systems & Process Excellence
- Serve as the subject matter expert for SAP Procurement and Contract Management modules.
- Deliver training and coaching to procurement colleagues and internal stakeholders.
Job Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Procurement, Business, Engineering, Life Sciences, or related discipline.
- Minimum 5-7 years of procurement, strategic sourcing, or category management experience, with solid experience in GMP.
- Strong experience managing supplier negotiations, contracts, and sourcing projects.
- Proven track record delivering measurable cost savings and supplier performance improvements.
- Experience leading cross-functional projects and influencing senior stakeholders.
- Good experience in using procurement and sourcing system of SAP.
- Fluency of Mandarin Chinese is a must, good speaking in English is desired.
- Location in Guangdong, China.
