Strategic Buyer IT (M/F/D)
We are seeking a highly skilled Strategic Buyer IT to support one of our key clients in the construction sector. In this role, you will be responsible for steering the IT procurement strategy, managing supplier relationships, and ensuring optimal value across software, hardware, IT services, and digital solutions. You will work closely with internal stakeholders-including IT, finance, operations, and project teams-to drive innovation, cost efficiency, and compliance for all IT-related spend.
This is a strategic, high-impact position with strong visibility across the organisation.
Key Responsibilities
Strategic Procurement & Category Management
- Develop and implement IT procurement strategies aligned with the client's business objectives and digital transformation road map.
- Manage the full life cycle of IT sourcing across hardware, software, cloud services, SaaS, cybersecurity solutions, and IT consulting.
- Conduct market analysis, benchmark pricing, and evaluate emerging technologies relevant to the construction industry.
Supplier Management
- Identify, evaluate, and onboard new IT suppliers to ensure competitive, innovative, and compliant offerings.
- Lead negotiations on pricing, contractual terms, SLAs, and long-term strategic agreements.
- Maintain strong supplier relationships to drive continuous improvement and performance.
Stakeholder Collaboration
- Partner with IT leadership, project managers, site operations, finance, and legal teams to gather requirements and define procurement needs.
- Support the development of business cases and budget planning for IT investments.
- Ensure alignment between procurement strategy and corporate digital initiatives.
Contracting & Compliance
- Draft, review, and manage IT procurement contracts, ensuring compliance with internal policies and regulatory requirements.
- Monitor contract performance, renewals, and risk mitigation measures (e.g., software licensing compliance, data protection, cybersecurity).
Process Optimisation
- Implement best practices in IT procurement processes, tools, and reporting.
- Drive cost-saving initiatives, process automation, and supplier innovation programs.
- Track and report category performance KPIs, savings, and strategic progress.
Required Qualifications
- Degree in Business Administration, Supply Chain, IT Management, Engineering, or a related field.
- 3-5+ years of experience in strategic procurement, ideally with a focus on IT categories.
- Strong knowledge of IT sourcing, software licensing models, cloud infrastructure, cybersecurity, and digital solutions.
- Negotiation expertise and experience working with major IT vendors (e.g., Microsoft, SAP, Oracle, IT integrators).
- Fluent in English, Fluency in German preferred (written and spoken).
- Strong analytical, commercial, and stakeholder management skills.
