Compensation: $120,000 - $150,000 base salary + bonus + benefits
Summary
We are seeking an experienced Chemical Sourcing Manager to lead procurement strategy for raw materials within our chemical categories. This role is responsible for developing supplier partnerships, driving cost savings, mitigating supply risk, and supporting operations and R&D through effective sourcing strategies. The ideal candidate brings proven chemicals procurement experience, strong analytical skills, and a track record of building strategic supplier relationships in a manufacturing or chemical environment.
Responsibilities
- Develop and execute sourcing strategies for chemical raw materials, intermediates, and related commodities.
- Lead the full procurement lifecycle: supplier identification, RFPs/RFQs, negotiation, contracting, and performance management.
- Monitor global chemical markets, pricing trends, and supply disruptions to inform strategic decisions.
- Partner cross‑functionally with operations, quality, R&D, supply chain, and EH&S to support new product development and ensure supplier compliance.
- Drive cost reduction initiatives, value engineering, and supplier innovation opportunities.
- Manage supplier performance using KPIs related to cost, quality, delivery, and risk.
- Ensure compliance with safety and regulatory frameworks (e.g., REACH, TSCA, DOT).
- Maintain accurate procurement data, forecasts, and category insights for leadership reporting.
Qualifications
- Mandatory: 5+ years of chemical procurement, chemical sourcing, or raw materials buying experience.
- Strong understanding of chemical commodities, intermediates, solvents, or specialty chemicals.
- Demonstrated expertise in supplier negotiation, contract management, and strategic sourcing.
- Experience working with regulatory standards affecting chemicals procurement.
- Excellent analytical skills with the ability to interpret market data and cost drivers.
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain, Chemistry, Engineering, Business, or related field.
- Strong communication, relationship‑building, and stakeholder management skills.
- Ability to thrive in a fast‑paced environment and lead cross‑functional initiatives.
