Test Engineer

DSJ Global is partnered with a rapidly growing advanced power electronics manufacturing organization seeking a Test Engineer to join their team in the Andover, MA area. This organization is at the forefront of power conversion technology, supporting highly sophisticated applications through cutting-edge R&D and precision manufacturing.

As a Test Engineer, you will play a critical role in ensuring the quality, performance, and reliability of advanced power converter products. You will design, develop, and optimize automated test systems, working cross-functionally with R&D and manufacturing teams to drive product excellence and continuous improvement. This role offers a strong blend of hands-on engineering, data analysis, and process optimization in a collaborative, fast-paced environment.

Key Responsibilities

  • Design and develop Automated Test Equipment hardware and software for power electronics testing
  • Develop and maintain test software using C/C++ and Visual Basic
  • Analyze production and test data using statistical tools
  • Lead or support Six Sigma initiatives to improve quality and reduce process variability
  • Integrate instrumentation using protocols such as GPIB, PXI, VXI, and Serial
  • Partner with Design Engineering to develop test procedures aligned with product requirements
  • Collaborate with Manufacturing Engineering to support and optimize production test systems
  • Troubleshoot test systems, hardware, and software issues to ensure uptime and reliability
  • Document all aspects of test development and system configuration for traceability and compliance

Required Qualifications

  • B.S. in Electrical Engineering or related discipline
  • 2+ years of experience in test engineering, analog design, or power electronics
  • Hands-on experience with ATE systems and microcontroller programming
  • Strong programming skills in C/C++
  • Experience working in Windows and embedded system environments
  • Ability to analyze data and apply statistical methods to improve processes
  • Strong troubleshooting skills across hardware and software systems

Desired Skills

  • Experience with power supply or power converter testing
  • Familiarity with SQL, Oracle, or ODBC databases
  • Experience with analog and digital circuit design/testing
  • Exposure to PCB design tools
  • Background in high-reliability or regulated manufacturing environments
