Vendor Management Lead
Job Summary
A leading financial services partner is looking for a seasoned professional to join their Vendor Management Office (VMO) as a Principal, Vendor Management. This strategic role is responsible for overseeing key vendor relationships, ensuring alignment with organizational goals, and driving performance, compliance, and value delivery across a diverse vendor portfolio. The ideal candidate will be a proactive leader with deep experience in vendor governance, contract management, and cross-functional collaboration.
Key Responsibilities
- Serve as the primary relationship owner for assigned vendors, ensuring consistent delivery of services and contractual obligations.
- Lead governance meetings (e.g., Quarterly Business Reviews, executive sessions) with clear outcomes and accountability.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders - including finance, risk, compliance, procurement, and executive leadership - to align vendor performance with enterprise objectives.
- Drive innovation and continuous improvement with global service providers and professional services vendors.
- Monitor vendor performance against SLAs, KPIs, and evolving business needs.
- Develop and manage vendor scorecards and reporting for senior leadership.
- Support audits and maintain issue trackers for vendor-related concerns.
- Mentor junior VMO team members and contribute to the evolution of vendor management policies and practices.
Qualifications
- 8+ years of experience in vendor management, strategic sourcing, or related fields.
- Proven success in managing strategic and professional services vendors.
- Strong leadership in planning and facilitating governance meetings.
- Excellent conflict resolution and stakeholder management skills.
- Deep understanding of vendor contracts, commercial terms, and operational relationships - especially with technology, contingent labor, and professional services vendors.
- Proficiency in data analysis and performance reporting.
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple priorities.
Technical Skills
- MS Office, SharePoint
- Vendor Governance tools (e.g., Sirion)
- ERP systems (e.g., Oracle Fusion)
- Contract Lifecycle Management tools (e.g., iCertis)
Education & Certifications
- Bachelor's degree required; Master's preferred (Supply Chain or Project Management ideal).
- Relevant certifications are highly desirable.
