DSJ Global is partnering with a well-established hydropower OEM + service organization to hire a Head of Sales to lead regional commercial strategy across hydro service and modernization in the US & Canada.

This is a leadership role centered on growing lifecycle revenue across a large, long-standing installed base-where no two hydro units are exactly alike.

What You'll Own

You'll lead the regional go-to-market and team to expand and win hydropower service work across:

  • Modernization / uprates / upgrades (reliability, efficiency, life extension)
  • Repairs & component services, including generator-related work
  • Long-Term Service Agreements (LTSA) and multi-year lifecycle partnerships
  • Plant assessments and digital service offerings tied to installed fleet performance
  • Equipment scope including turbines, generators, and pump‑turbines

Key Responsibilities

  • Build and execute a regional service sales strategy tied to profitable growth
  • Define and steer the regional go-to-market approach, including Service Hubs and Key Account Management
  • Use market intelligence to prioritize customers, targets, and offerings
  • Lead the pipeline, forecast, KPI cadence, and performance accountability
  • Partner closely with tendering, engineering, and project teams to deliver competitive, technically sound proposals
  • Lead and develop a high-performing service sales and key account team
  • Navigate complex contracts and risk profiles typical within hydropower projects

What We're Looking For

  • 10+ years in sales or service sales with leadership scope, ideally in hydropower or a closely related sector
  • Experience working with installed equipment fleets (not just new equipment sales)
  • Ability to operate in a highly customized, non-standard environment where solutions are engineered rather than transactional
  • Strong ability to engage with customers on modernization strategy, lifecycle planning, outages, and performance optimization
  • Proven ability to manage complex deals, long sales cycles, and contractual risk
  • Strategic mindset with experience building go-to-market approaches and expanding service portfolios
