Aftermarket Demand Planning Manager
We are supporting an Advanced Manufacturing firm in Massachusetts seeking to bring on a new Aftermarket Demand Planning Manager to support and build on legacy aftermarket operations for their global product family.
Key Responsibilities
- Aftermarket Planning & Inventory Control
- Develop, implement, and maintain policies, procedures, and material control systems for aftermarket operations.
- Ensure materials are ordered and stocked to meet service requirements while maintaining acceptable inventory levels.
- Manage global field inventory valued at approximately $80 million across 80 locations.
- Material Scheduling & Coordination
- Create material schedules and coordinate efficient movement of materials with purchasing, production, and engineering teams.
- Review and plan purchasing requirements for aftermarket parts and assemblies.
- Prepare material requirement plans using ERP systems and advanced planning tools.
- Complex SKU Management
- Oversee planning for 20-30 product families, each with multiple SKUs and discrete parts, totaling up to 5,000 unique parts.
- Ensure accurate forecasting and replenishment strategies for diverse product lines.
- Performance Metrics & Financial Impact
- Support aftermarket operations contributing to $50 million in quarterly revenue.
- Monitor inventory turns, fill rates, and forecast accuracy to meet service level agreements.
- Drive continuous improvement initiatives to optimize inventory and reduce carrying costs.
- Leadership & Team Development
- Select, develop, and evaluate personnel to ensure efficient operation of the materials management function.
- Foster a culture of accountability and operational excellence within the team.
Education & Experience
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business, Engineering, or related field (MBA preferred).
- Minimum 5 years of managerial experience in materials management within a capital equipment manufacturing firm.
- Strong knowledge of ERP systems, demand planning tools, and aftermarket supply chain processes.
Preferred Skills & Certifications
- APICS CPIM or CSCP certification.
- Advanced proficiency in Excel, ERP systems, and demand planning tools (Servigistics preferred).
- Experience managing global inventory and complex SKU portfolios.
